Working with multiple Databases and INI files

Note: Each database used by a user needs its own INI file

Edit the INI to point to your Database

Windows 7 or Vista Machine
Move the IAM.ini file from the “C:\Program Files\PFIM” or “C:\Program Files (x86)\PFIM” folder to your desktop and edit the file as below.

Windows XP
Find the IAM.ini file in the “C:\Program Files\PFIM” or “C:\Program Files (x86)\PFIM” folder and edit the file as below.

Remember besides changing the PrimaryDataBase and PathToReports you will also need to set a unique PathToErrFile.
Remember to Move the IAM.ini file back from the desktop to “C:\Program Files\PFIM” or “C:\Program Files (x86)\PFIM” .
Select Cut and Paste back to the folder you moved it out of.

Create a PFIM Shortcut for each ini file you can copy it from the start Menu to your desktop, right click the Shortcut and select Properties.
On the general tab you can set the name of the Database you will be accessing.
On the Shortcut tab if the ini file is not called iam.ini or is not in the PFIM program folder you will need the following:
In the Target after “…PFIM.exe” enter the following: /INI=C:\progra~1\pfim\xxx.ini
xxx.ini is the ini for the particular database this shortcut is for.

Windows 7 and Vista
On the Compatibility Tab
Select the Change Settings for all users.

Select the Privilege Level to “Run this program as an administrator”
Click OK -> OK
